This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) is in the context of and to govern the access and usage of the AI Kosha Platform (“AI Kosha”), its Services, applications, and products (the “Services”). AI Kosha is a platform designed, developed and hosted by the IndiaAI Division under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (“MeitY”), Government of India.

This Privacy Policy describes and determines how the AI Kosha Website (referred to as AI Kosha; Platform; or We/Us) handles and/ or deals with your (referred to as You or User) personal and usage information in accordance with the applicable laws of India.

This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with the Terms of Use available at Terms of Use. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use AI Kosha or the Services provided through it.

AI Kosha reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated via updates on this page, with the effective date mentioned at the top.

AI Kosha is a unified dataset platform that streamlines access to non-personal and anonymized datasets as well as AI models, tools, and libraries (collectively ‘Artefacts’). AI Kosha connects government and non-government Contributors with users of AI resources. To learn more about AI Kosha and its Services, kindly refer to our Terms of Use. 

AI Kosha does not collect any personal data unless explicitly required for the Services. AI Kosha allows the User to browse the Website (aikosha.indiaai.gov.in) without signing up. In this case, it will not capture any specific personal information about the User (for example, name, phone number, email ID) that may allow us to identify any User individually.

A. Information Automatically Collected:

When you visit the AI Kosha Website, we automatically collect:

• Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address.
• Usage Data: Pages viewed, duration of visits, and interactions on the site.

However, no attempt is being made to link these with the identity of individuals visiting the AI Kosha website unless an unlawful attempt to violate/infringe the AI Kosha Terms of Use, Privacy Policy or provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 or under any law for the time being in force has been detected.

B. Information Collected on Account Creation:

The following limited data is collected as voluntarily provided when the user:

• Creates an Account for AI Kosha.
• Contact’s AI Kosha for support.

This may include:

• Registration Details: Full Name, Email, Phone number, DigiLocker ID, eAadhaar Status (Yes/No)
• API interactions involving services such as datasets, models, and use cases: User ID, Designation, Name, Organization, Profile Picture, Roles, Username

In order to create an individual User account and perform necessary authentications, AI Kosha relies on the services of MeriPehchaan.  By creating an individual account, you consent to MeriPehchaan's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

To create an organization account and perform necessary authentications, AI Kosha relies on Entity Locker's services. By creating an organization account, you consent to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy of Entity Locker.

• To deliver the Services, which may include the creation of Accounts and the display of User profiles or content.
• To operate and improve the Services, including but not limited to providing more effective customer service, enhancing user experience by eliminating redundant data entry, performing research and analysis to improve the Services or other products and technologies of AI Kosha, automatically updating the Services, diagnosing or resolving issues related to the Services.
• To conduct analysis or research related to the Services or any associated topics for policy or innovation purposes.
• To facilitate communication with the Users, which may include the dispatch of welcome emails, technical service issue notifications, security announcements, information on new services, legal notices, responses to inquiries, or other relevant or necessary information.
• To ensure and maintain the security of the Services or Website, which may involve detecting, preventing, investigating, or addressing issues related to fraud or security.
• To safeguard against harm to the rights, property, or safety of AI Kosha, its Users, or the public.
• To enforce the terms of use, including conducting investigations into potential violations.
• To comply with relevant laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.

AI Kosha does not share/disclose any information, including eKYC details of the user collected at the time of sign-up, with any individual or Organization (public or private) unless and until it is required by law or authorized by the account holder with his/her consent. 

The personal and usage information, as collected may be shared with other Organizations, if the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

• Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable Government request;
• Detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues as well as investigation of potential violations;
• Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of AI Kosha, other Users or the public as required or permitted by law.

AI Kosha will retain information for as long as necessary to deliver the Services, to comply with any applicable legal requirements, to maintain security and prevent incidents and, in general, to pursue our legitimate interests.

You may delete your AI Kosha Account at any time. Upon termination of your Account, AI Kosha will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete your information and Content contributed by you, whether public or private, within 90 days. AI Kosha will not delete the Content that you contributed to other Users' Artefacts, including versions of it and Content made on the community module of the platform.

AI Kosha reserves the right to retain your information for legal or regulatory compliance, pursuant to standard archiving, recovery, and back-up processes and practices, and pursuant to AI Kosha’s Privacy Policy.

As a registered User, you have the right to access your profile at any time and to add, modify or remove any information as applicable.

The Website is equipped with standard security features to protect the confidentiality and security of your information. Data is encrypted in transit as well as at rest. Personal information provided at the time of registration is encrypted before being uploaded to the server, where it is stored in an encrypted format.

Any information provided to AI Kosha will be reasonably protected from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
