A geospatial dataset containing polygon geometries for districts in India as per the 2011 Population Census
The PC11 District Polygons Dataset provides district-level administrative boundary geometries derived from open-source geospatial maps. These polygons represent true district boundaries from the 2011 Census, allowing researchers to analyze district-level trends in demographics, infrastructure, and policy implementation. These maps have been compiled from multiple sources, including SEDAC, Bharatmaps, Datameet, and the Administrative Atlas of India, ensuring extensive geographic coverage. While some inaccuracies exist (up to 1 km measurement error in certain areas), these maps are among the most accurate available for open-access use.
